How can I retrieve data from an older Historian to a newer Historian

Inside the collector options, there is one called “Server to Server collector”. This collector is designed to make a pair of Historians be able to communicate with each other. The collector will assign a “Source” and a “Destination” Historian so that the tags will be able to populate into the desired historian correctly. Historians of all versions are designed to talk to each other, depending on your licensing and Operating System.
If you are currently using Historian 7, there is a wizard inside the application that will help you pair the two historians on install.

Key Things to Remember

  • Must be able to communicate between machines

  • Must have proper SIMS installed

  • Please Check firewall and other third-party security applications
