How to connect an iFIX Client to an iFIX SCADA.

  1. Host Files

    1. The IP address and node name need to be configured in the host file, as seen below, unless the Node name and the computer name are exactly the same.

    2. Go to notepad > Right Click “Run As Admin” > Open > C:\Windows\System32\drivers\etc> Check from Text files to All Files > hosts.

    3. If you’re trying to connect to a redundant pair, both node names and IP addresses for the primary and secondary server need to be in the hosts file on the client side.

    4. The client IP address and node name, need to be configured on both the primary and secondary.
